4-H-1042-WThis facilitator's guide answers questions posed in the 4-H Wildlife Science curriculum Levels 1-3 and supplies additional information about working with youth on the project. The 4-H Wildlife Science curriculum is for youth who enjoy learning about wildlife. Level 1 introduces the basic wildlife groups: mammals, birds, fish, and herptiles. Youth learn about the similarities and differences among these groups and then study traits of each group. Level 2 activities help youth use their basic knowledge of wildlife from Level 1 to explore more complex wildlife topics. Level 3 activities are divided into chapters based on how youth might use the information they have learned--as a homeowner, resident of a wildlife habitat, food and fiber producer (farmer), mayor, teacher, or legislator. Level 3 delves deeper into the study of wildlife and can prepare youth to be well informed and to study these topics at a college or university.
